I claim to have found a fresh and original approach to the musical interpretation of [Chopin's Third Piano Sonata] that, I believe, may make its inner beauties more accessible to the listener. I also claim that it restores integrity to the sonata, especially the first movement, of a kind that is sometimes lacking in standard interpretations.
As heard on ABC Classic FM:
Of the performance:
"An intriguing, fascinatingly researched performance of Chopin's Piano Sonata No.3." Colin Fox
Of the 20-page CD booklet:
"Very interesting ... a good read!" Clive Robertson
The CD booklet contains an illustrated analysis of Chopin's Op.58 and illustrated examples from Beethoven's Op.27 No.2
(see separate illustrated interactive essay on this Beethoven sonata).
